The plates have a very attractive pattern and an unusual design. The plates have a pronounced lip that gives them an internal raised edge of roughly 2.5cm. This makes carrying anything with a liquid component so much easier. The only downside to this edge design is that the plates do not stack as compactly as commonly shaped plates. As such, they do need slightly more storage space. This is not a problem for myself nor, I imagine, most people. A small consideration for plates this nice.
